A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks the player's first trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after spring of 2023.
The win also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular reactions on court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an better serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the last five games to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
