An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
